1992 - 1993 Chevy/GMC 1/2-ton Suburban (w/ 2-Bolt Idler Arm) 4WD2.5" Lift System This system is available for vehicles with 6-lug wheels. Lift is attained by adjusting-up the factory torsion bars. Adjusting-up the bars without installing the Superlift system creates several problems, the major one being little or no extension travel, which is the suspension's ability to "drop". As ride height is increased, distance between the bottom of the upper control arms and their extension travel stops becomes less and less. This limited travel results in a very stiff ride. With no extension travel, the suspension cannot do its job of soaking-up the bumps and dips. This continuous "topping out" also causes accelerated upper ball joint wear. Other problems are front-end alignment and CV axle boot wear, caused by increased operating angles. In summary, adjusting-up the bars alone is not a viable option.

More InformationLift is attained by adjusting-up the factory torsion bars. Adjusting-up the bars without also installing the Superlift system creates several problems. First, as ride height is increased, the distance between the upper control arms and their extension travel-stops is reduced. Reduced extension travel results in a very stiff ride since the suspension is continuously "topping out". This condition also accelerates upper ball joint wear. Plus, increased operating angles reduce CV axle service life. In summary, adjusting-up the bars alone is not a viable option. The Superlift system includes new replacement upper control arms to restore adequate extension travel and proper alignment. Constructed of .219" wall thickness DOM tubing and .25" steel plate, the arms have proven to be virtually indestructible. Brackets lower the front differential assembly to relieve CV axle angles. Replacement DOT approved factory style (rubber) front brake hoses are included to ensure adequate length and proper routing. Remember that lift depends on torsion bar adjustment. How much lift you attain depends on the starting ride height. For example, if the vehicle has already been raised 1" or so via adjusted-up bars or heavier rated bars, expect a maximum of 1.5" of additional lift. Main Features
