6"-7.5" Bracket Style Lift System

Ride height is increased by lowering both upper and lower control arms. A slight amount of factory torsion bar adjustment is available, hence the 6.5” to 7.5” lift height range. Both lower control arms, plus the front legs of the upper control arms, are anchored by crossmembers that span from frame rail-to-rail. The front differential assembly is also lowered to keep CV axle angles in check. Superlift’s bracket lift method does not require front differential housing trimming, as is the case with most replacement knuckle systems.

The factory steering system’s centerlink is relocated to keep the tie rods in phase with the lower control arms. Excessive centerlink movement is regulated by a stabilizing link which also reduces the load and stress transmitted to the pitman and idler arms.

The lift includes a new set of shocks with a trick tube-hoop dual shock system for the front. Three different performance shock options are available: Superlift Superide, Superide Select Series (SS) high-pressure monotube gas-charged shocks produced for Superlift by Bilstein, or SSR remote reservoir gas monotube shocks.

NOTE: Generally, to achieve and / or maintain lift height over 6.5”, heavier rated GM torsion bars are required. We suggest GM part #157124117 (driver side bar); GM part #15712412 (passenger side bar). GM bar letter code is “WZ”.

Application Notes

  • 1997 and newer models with Autotrac require dual cardan driveshaft, shown in options. Non-Autotrac models may also need driveshaft if regularly driven in 4WD over 35 MPH.
  • With single exhaust, a new, reformed section of exhaust crossover pipe is required to clear front driveshaft.
  • Special puller tool is recommended to load / unload torsion bars.
  • 2007 models require part # 15252696 & 15150104 to be purchased from the dealership in order to install front driveshaft.
  • 34000 needed only if vehicle has 4.56 or lower (numerically higher) axle ratio, corrects ABS signal.

More Information

6.5½ to 7.5½ 4WD Bracket Style Lift System

If you’re looking for maximum height, the Bracket style lift is for you. We are able to coax a little more lift by lowering both upper and lower control arms; with a Knuckle style lift the upper control arms remain in their stock location. A slight amount of factory torsion bar adjustment is available, hence the 6.5½ to 7.5½ lift height range. Also, Superlift’s Bracket lift method does not require front differential housing trimming, as is the case with most replacement knuckle systems.

The system includes a new set of six shocks with a trick tubular dual shock system for the front, with three different available performance shock options. If purchased in Master Pack form (K-Number), the pickup truck systems include 5½ rear blocks. Pickup owners that plan to run the maximum front height of 7.5½ may desire additional rear lift, via add-a-leafs, or replacement rear lift springs plus a short block kit. The Avalanche and SUV systems include replacement 5½ rear coils, so front lift must be kept minimal (6.5½) to prevent an excessive “front-high” attitude.

NOTE: Generally, to achieve and / or maintain lift height over 6.5”, heavier rated GM torsion bars are required. We suggest GM part #157124117 (driver side bar); GM part #15712412 (passenger side bar). GM bar letter code is “WZ”.
