6" Lift System

In 1995, General Motors introduced the ZR2 off-road package on the Blazer and Sonoma. This package incorporates frame, fender and minor suspension changes that make the vehicle capable of clearing 31" tires in stock form. The end result is a more capable off-road vehicle. Superlift's 6" system was designed using the same proven lift method found proper alignment as well as the capability of installing the optional multi-shock system. Rear lift consists of a springover- axle conversion with add-a-leafs on some applications. An optional 2-piece skid plate, available in mild steel or brushed stainless steel with our oval logo, completes the system.

More Information

6" Lift System for ZR2 / ZR5 Highrider series only: • 1995-2004 S10 / S15 Sonoma Pickup • 1998-2004 Blazer / Jimmy The “ZR” off-road package incorporates frame, fender and minor suspension changes that make the vehicle capable of clearing slightly larger tires than the standard S-series. Superlift’s 6" system was designed using the same proven bracket lift method used on the full-size GM trucks. The system features heavy-duty relocation brackets for the lower control arms and front differential that restore factory CV axle and driveshaft angles. Replacement tubular upper control arms ensure adequate shock clearance and proper alignment, plus clearance for our optional multi-shock system. A new dropped centerlink restores tie-rod geometry, and our Centerlink Stabilizing System supports the centerlink to prevent premature pitman and idler arm wear. Note that some manufacturers use longer tie-rod assemblies instead of a dropped centerlink; this creates severe toe angle changes as the suspension cycles. There are two shock absorber options: Superide hydraulics, or for optimum performance choose our Superide Select Series (SS) shocks, which are high-pressure monotube gas units made to Superlift specs by Bilstein. Rear lift consists of a spring-over-axle conversion with add-a-leafs. An optional skid plate, available in mild steel or in a brushed stainless steel version that features a laser-cut oval logo, completes the system.

Main Features

  • Brackets constructed of .1875" thick plate steel and / or heavy-wall tubing
  • Heavy-duty centerlink maintains factory tie rod angles to prevent stud bind
  • Dual centerlink stabilizing links make steering more responsive and extend pitman / idler arm life
  • Full-width differential / control arm cross-members provide lateral rigidity
  • Includes front brake hose relocation brackets and new longer hose for rear
  • Front / rear anti-sway bar drop brackets and extended links prevent bar preload
  • Optional front multi-shock system available for use with Superide shocks only
  • Optional skid plate protects front differential available in mild steel or brushed stainless steel with oval logo
  • Rear lift is achieved by adding a leaf plus relocating the springs from bottom of axle-to-top

Tire / Wheel Recommendations

For 6” lift with Superlift dual shock system: 33 x 12.50” tire. Use 8” wide wheel, 15” to 17” diameter with 3.75” back spacing. For 6” lift without Superlift dual shock system: 33 x 12.50” tire. Use 8” wide wheel, 16” to 17” diameter with 5” back spacing. Other comparable size tires and wheels may work, but always check for proper fitment / clearance throughout the vehicle’s entire suspension travel and steering turning cycles. In addition to tire-to-fender clearance, also check for interference on the tire / wheel’s inboard side (knuckle, brake caliper, brake hose, steering linkage, etc.).
