2001 - 2006 Chevy/GMC 1/2-ton Avalanche 4WD

6" Bracket Lift System

The 6" lift system uses replacement Select series front springs. Different weight-rated front springs are offered for both gas V-8 and heavier diesel and V-10 engine equipped trucks. Heavier springs are needed for the larger power plants' increased weight, while the lighter-rated gas versions considerable improve the less weighty truck's ride quality. These lifts utilize new Urethane compression travel stops for the front; the factory rear stops are relocated. The 6" kit uses a dropped pitman arm for steering correction, and the track bar is lowered to keep it in phase with the drag link.

Application Notes

  • 1997 and newer models with Autotrac require dual cardan driveshaft, shown in options. Non-Autotrac models may also need driveshaft if regularly driven in 4WD over 35 MPH.
  • Kit includes front dual shock mounting brackets and 6 shocks with yellow boots (2000 - 06 Tahoe / Yukon have 4 shocks and boots and utilizes stock rear shocks).
  • Special puller tool is recommended to load / unload torsion bars.
  • Minor cutting and / or welding required.
  • System relocates and reuses factory rear shocks.
  • 34000 needed only if vehicle has 4.56 or lower (numerically higher) axle ratio, corrects ABS signal.

More Information

6.5½ to 7.5½ 4WD Bracket Style Lift System

If you’re looking for maximum height, the Bracket style lift is for you. We are able to coax a little more lift by lowering both upper and lower control arms; with a Knuckle style lift the upper control arms remain in their stock location. A slight amount of factory torsion bar adjustment is available, hence the 6.5½ to 7.5½ lift height range. Also, Superlift’s Bracket lift method does not require front differential housing trimming, as is the case with most replacement knuckle systems.

The system includes a new set of six shocks with a trick tubular dual shock system for the front, with three different available performance shock options. If purchased in Master Pack form (K-Number), the pickup truck systems include 5½ rear blocks. Pickup owners that plan to run the maximum front height of 7.5½ may desire additional rear lift, via add-a-leafs, or replacement rear lift springs plus a short block kit. The Avalanche and SUV systems include replacement 5½ rear coils, so front lift must be kept minimal (6.5½) to prevent an excessive “front-high” attitude.

NOTE: Generally, to achieve and / or maintain lift height over 6.5”, heavier rated GM torsion bars are required. We suggest GM part #157124117 (driver side bar); GM part #15712412 (passenger side bar). GM bar letter code is “WZ”.

Main Features

  • Retains factory ride quality, steering geometry, and CV axle angles
  • Front differential housing does not require trimming
  • Full-width control arm crossmembers provide lateral rigidity
  • Centerlink stabilizing link improves steering response and extends component service life
  • Longer factory style front anti-sway bar links prevent bar pre-load
  • Pickup rear lift options include blocks, a block and add-a-leaf combination, or replacement rear springs. SUVs use new rear coils.
  • Includes rear and front shocks (front is a 2-per wheel system) with your choice of three different performance shock options: Superlift Superide, Superide Select (SS) or Select with remote reservoir (SSR). On models factory-equipped with Autoride electronic shocks or rear Air-Ride shocks, relocation brackets allow factory shocks to be retained.
  • Allows use of factory wheels
  • TruSpeed speed sensor calibrator available
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

Do I need a replacement driveshaft?
Yes, if your vehicle has the Autotrac transfer case option (the push button full-time 4WD feature). A replacement front driveshaft is available from Superlift®. On vehicles with standard transfer case (non-Autotrac), front driveshaft replacement is not necessary unless the vehicle is regularly operated in 4WD at speeds over 35 MPH.
