2012 - 2013 Jeep Wrangler (JK) including Rubicon (4-Door) 4WD4" Standard Lift System2012 model 4" (Superlift) system revisions are minimal, yet enough to require some new part numbers. The new and improved engine found in the 2012 JK was welcomed, but the Jeep Engineers took away some of the lifted JK’s suspension extension travel in the process. The new engine, tranny and transfer case rest in the frame at a steeper "front high" angle, plus the exhaust cross-over pipe is closer to the front driveshaft. Suspension travel must be limited, or the factory front driveshaft will make contact with the exhaust crossover pipe. Even if the exhaust is re-routed, the driveshaft will bind at the transfer case end when the suspension is at full extension. Superlift and Black Diamond prevent factory driveshaft damage by including a unique front axle limiting strap tested to 19,630 lbs. resistance. The reduced travel is not noticeable on-road, although we highly recommend an aftermarket replacement, dual Cardan (CV) style front driveshaft for off-roading. If this type driveshaft is used, you simply discard the limiting strap and full extension travel is restored. Both Tom Wood’s Custom Driveshafts (4xshaft.com), and J.E. Reel (reeldriveline.com) offer a replacement front CV driveshaft. Optional ComponentsApplication Notes
Installation InstructionsMore InformationFOX Racing Shocks - At Superlift and Black Diamond we are always testing our products, looking for ways to improve performance, customer options and value. On the JK, our quest led us to partnering with FOX Racing. The race-inspired 2.0 Performance Series shock by FOX, combined with our award-winning JK suspension design, has made a great system even better. Simply said, this is the highest level of ride quality and handling we have ever experienced in a JK. Even when pushed hard, shock fade is a non-issue due to the race formulated shock oil and the aluminum body’s high heat dissipation value. The high-pressure nitrogen-charged gas shock is designed to run “body-up” and without a dust boot. Superlift and Black Diamond still offer the economical Superide / AT (hydraulic) and Superide SS / XT by Bilstein options. The Bilsteins offer a considerable performance gain over the standard Superide / AT shocks, and the FOX shocks provide a comparable gain over the Bilsteins. Superlift and Black Diamond both offer the FOX shocks separately as upgrades. They are suitable for lift heights from 2" to 4" of lift. Main Features
