Overview

This era of Dodge trucks used a strait forward suspension design. The front and rear axles are positioned below the leaf springs. This factory suspension design is very similar to early General Motors models, except that most Dodge vehicles have relatively weak rear springs coupled with factory blocks. Considering this, rear lift options over 2" include add-a-leafs or replacement springs to minimize lift block height.

On some applications there are two styles of leaf springs to choose from, Heavy Duty (HD) or Superide™. Normally, HD springs produce a ride firmer than stock. HD leafs are uniquely suited for moderate to heavy duty use. The Superide™ line emphasizes suspension travel and a more compliant ride by deceasing spring rates. Superide™ springs off the most responsive ride availible without sacrificing durability and body roll characteristics. The 5" front springs have degree shims attatched to improve driveshaft angle.
