1993 - 1999 Chevy/GMC 1/2-ton Suburban (w/ 3-Bolt Idler Arm) 4WDOverviewThe factory GM version of Independent Front Suspension (IFS) consists of springs, in the form of torsion bars, upper / lower control arms and a differential with Constant Velocity (CV) axle shafts. When lifting the GM IFS, the primary factors that ensure good vehicle driveability traits and component service life are: steering geometry, suspension travel control and CV axle operating angles. Superlift offers bracket lift systems for this family of vehicles, as opposed to replacement knuckle lift systems. When new knuckles are used, design limitations requires tire track width (measurement from outside of tire-to-outside of tire) to be substantially increased... close to a 3" increase with some competitor’s lifts! Additionally, most of these vehicles come from the factory with 2" more track width on the front axle than the rear, which can result in a front-to-rear track width increase of almost 5"! Problems associated with increased front track width are: reduced tire-to-fender clearance when turning, uncovered front tires slinging whatever you drive through onto your vehicle body and the obviously "odd" look. Also, our bracket lift method does not require trimming-off any of the differential housing, which is common with most replacement knuckle systems. Superlift offers lift heights ranging from 2" to 7.5", depending on vehicle year and model. More InformationGM’s newest version of their Independent Front Suspension consists of coilover struts, upper / lower control arms and a differential with Constant Velocity front axle shafts. Both 2WD and 4WD lift systems are basically the same; our 6” 4WD lift includes additional hardware for front differential relocation. Both pickups and SUVs have a 2½ to 2.5½ “front low” rake from the factory. Our 1.25½ to 2.5½ front lifts allow you to level-off your vehicle or lessen its front-low stance.
