Add-a-Leaf Kits
Add-a-leafs can be the ticket when only 1" to 2" of lift is desired. You may consider front leafs to level the vehicle or to cure the sag caused by a winch or snowplow. Rear add-a-leafs are also frequently used in conjunction with lift blocks in a taller system to beef-up the rear springs. Remember that rear springs fatigue is common among older vehicles, the wagon type rigs (SUVs), and ones that have been used for heavy hauling and/or towing.

For some models, Superlift offers a choice of either long or short length leafs. In the vast majority of cases, long leafs install directly beneath the main leaf (the longest leaf with the mounting eyes). This positioning is most beneficial for combating spring / axle wrap-up since strength is added along the full length of the springs. Also, a relatively thin material can be used so ride quality is not overly firm.

Short add-a-leafs install toward the bottom of the spring pack. Normally, with short leafs, ride firmness is increased slightly more than it would be with long add-aleafs. As you can see by the diagram, short leafs will install a little easier.

All kits include two single leafs and new tie-bolts. Urethane Radius Arm / Contrlol Arm / Link Arm Bushings may be required to realign rear driveshaft angle on some vehicles if driveline vibration occurs. Heavy, riveted-on factory spring clips can generally be reused. Note that not all applications include new bend clips and/or Urethane Radius Arm / Contrlol Arm / Link Arm Bushings. See the appropriate charts for bend clips and/or shims.

NOTE: Superlift recommends using new U-bolts, flatwashers, and locking nuts. U-bolt replacement may be required depending on their condition and length. Fulllength (long) add-a-leafs are no thicker than .401", while short leafs can be up to 1" thick. Refer to U-bolt chart for identification and ordering information. Leafs fit both 2WD and 4WD leaf springs applications unless specified.
